11/7/2010 - Okay, this is my movie list I want to watch for each letter of the alphabet. Some might get swapped out with what comes to the movie theaters, hopefully not a classic one. The ones with * are from the 100 list of classic movies of all times. I thought I would get 2 lists worked on at the same time.
Annie Hall - watched this on 12/11/2010 and it was a struggle. Hope that is the worst of my movies on my list! Couldn't stand the Woody Allen character. I avoid people like that more and more. They are energy drainers and I would probably kill someone if I was stuck with them.
Bonnie and Clyde - watched this on 1/1/2011. Was a good movie and was interesting to see the original photographs in the beginning. Found it interesting too that this was Gene Wilders debut. He looked so young! And also in this... Denver Pyle. The name sounded familar but not the face. Well, think about it... when I remember seeing Denver Pyle he was in Grizzly Adams and Dukes of Hazzard. He was much older then.
Citizen Kane - 7/12/2011 Started watching some of my movies again. I know the answer about "Rosebud". At times, the movie was too drawn out and yet, it wasn't. I guess if I had been an editor, I would've taken out some trivial stuff, but I'm not and that is probably more of why it is a classic. LOL It was interesting to see Orsen Wells young... thin.
Dr. Zhivago - 7/16/2011 Another one from the classics list that I am using here. Was pretty good actually. Long, and does show the "intermission" like "Gone With the Wind" has. The movie had 2 people I didn't recognize at first. The first one was Rob Steiger. He played Victor.. who is the bad guy of the movie. I didn't like the character for a few reasons. The other was Alec Guinness (sp). who narrated the story some. Overall, the movie was well done for the tragedy that it was.
The French Connection - 1/9/2011 Mom and I watched this one. It was a little slow going at first but got going pretty good finally. They should redo this movie. I bet my dad watched this movie and/or read the book. I don't recall seeing the book around though. I am surprised I hadn't seen it before because of him.
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo - 7/13/2011 This wasn't on my list. I didn't realize there was a trilogy I guess, and yet, I now recall something on CBS Sunday Morning. I am going to see this again in a couple weeks, and may have the others with me also. There is some sexual scenes but moreso one that in particular is violent. Kind of gave me the chills. The story though... was good. A who dunnit and surprised ending. I couldn't figure out the one thing I didn't like about a character... and then I realized it. It was who the character is in real life. It was Christopher Plummer. I didn't like him being this bad guy.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - saw on 11/19/2010 at the midnight opening premier. I would like to see it again, especially before part 2 comes out.
Julie and Julia - 7/23/2011 I enjoyed taking a break and seeing this cute movie. Glad I didn't go to theater to see it, but enjoyable.
The King's Speech - Mom and I went on 1/30/2011 to see this movie and it was incredible! There was moments of laughter and seriousness. I even got teary eyed. THIS is a movie I will add to my collection.
The Maltese Falcon - 4/1/2011 I watched this with Mom. I was told to go home and relax, so I figured that this would be a good way to unwind. The movie was really good and had surprises in it for me. I really did enjoy it.
